Tasks:
- Acquisition of new manufacturing and component sponsors for the mechanical departments
- Organization and centralization of material orders for all mechanical subteams
- Strategic allocation of custom-manufactured parts to external partners and sponsors
- Tracking of manufacturing progress, supply chains, and resource management
- Be the link between the team and company
Profile:
- Business-fluent in German and English (written and spoken)
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes (CNC milling/turning, sheet metal, 3D printing) and technical drawings
- High degree of organization, process optimization, and efficiency
What awaits you:
As the Technical Sponsoring & Resource Manager for Mechanics, you act as the central interface between our engineering subteams and our external partners. Your primary mission is to ensure that the mechanical departments have the necessary materials and manufacturing capacities to bring the car to life. You actively scout for new sponsors and maintain existing partnerships to expand our manufacturing network.
Efficiency is at the core of this role. You take the lead in organizing centralized procurement processes, such as orders for raw materials and standardized components. By providing a clear structure where subteams simply enter their requirements, you eliminate redundant work and streamline the entire ordering pipeline. You ensure that the team’s budget is used effectively and that logistics run smoothly.
In addition, you act as a coordinator for external manufacturing. While the subteams remain responsible for their own designs, you manage the distribution of parts to our sponsors. You evaluate which manufacturing partner has the right capabilities for specific components and track the overall status of external production to prevent delays in the assembly phase.
This role is ideal for someone with a talent for organization and a proactive mindset. You don’t need to be a CAD expert, but you should understand the basic language of mechanical engineering to communicate effectively with sponsors. If you enjoy optimizing processes and want to play a key role in the logistical success of a high-performance racing team, this position is for you.
Time expenditure: At least 10 hours per Week
