Tasks

  • Support the development and optimization of the pedal box of our race car
  • Design and improve components such as pedal arms, stops, and adjustment mechanisms
  • Improve the adjustability and ergonomics of the pedal box for different drivers
  • Assist with CAD design, manufacturing preparation, and integration of the pedal box into the vehicle

Profile

  • Interest in vehicle engineering and mechanical design
  • Basic experience with CAD software is beneficial
  • Basic understanding of mechanical systems and load transfer
  • Motivation to work on a real mechanical component of the race car

What to expect

In this role, you will work on the development and optimization of the pedal box of our Formula Student race car. The pedal box forms the interface between the driver and the braking system and therefore plays a key role in vehicle control and braking performance.

You will analyze the existing design and work on improvements regarding ergonomics, adjustability, and structural design. This may include optimizing pedal geometry, designing adjustment mechanisms for different drivers, or improving the integration of the pedal box within the chassis.

This position offers hands-on experience in mechanical design, CAD development, and the integration of driver interface components in a Formula Student race car while working closely with the braking system and chassis teams.

Time expenditure: At least 10 hours per Week
