Website Strohm und Söhne e.V.
Tasks
- Plan and conduct tests to evaluate the braking performance of our race car
- Analyze braking data from vehicle tests (e.g. brake pressure, pedal force, and brake balance)
- Support the integration and calibration of sensors within the braking system
- Document and evaluate test results to support further development of the braking system
Profile
- Interest in vehicle engineering, vehicle dynamics, or data analysis
- Analytical mindset and curiosity about understanding technical systems
- Basic experience with tools such as Excel, MATLAB, or Python is beneficial
- Motivation to work closely with the testing, electronics, and suspension teams
What to expect
In this role, you will focus on testing and validating the braking system of our race car. During vehicle tests, various parameters such as brake pressure, pedal force, and vehicle behavior are recorded and analyzed to better understand the braking performance under real driving conditions.
You will support the integration of sensors within the braking system and assist in collecting and analyzing test data. Based on this data, you will help identify potential improvements in areas such as brake balance, system response, and overall braking performance.
This role provides hands-on experience in vehicle testing, data analysis, and performance validation in a Formula Student race car. You will work closely with the braking system, vehicle dynamics, and electronics teams to translate measurement data into practical engineering improvements.
Time expenditure: At least 10 hours per Week
