CAD Engineer – Aerodynamics

Website Strohm und Söhne e.V.

Tasks:

  • Designing aerodynamic work packages of the car such as:
  • Front wing
  • Rear wing
  • Undertray
  • Bullwing

and more

  • As a part of the Aerodynamic Team you are also expected to help with the production of the Aerodynamic Work Packages (That includes working with Carbon Fibre).

Profile:

  • Experience with Creo or SolidWorks
  • Strong technical understanding
  • Willingness to iterate and continuously improve designs

What awaits you:

As a CAD Engineer, you play a key role in bringing the race car to life. Starting from initial concepts, you transform ideas into precise 3D models and technical designs that shape the development of every component. Your work ensures that parts are not only innovative and high-performing, but also manufacturable, reliable, and ready for integration into the full vehicle.

By creating detailed assemblies, engineering drawings, and design updates, you help connect theory with practical application. CAD Engineers work closely with other departments, such as aerodynamics, chassis, and manufacturing, to make sure every part fits, functions, and contributes to the car’s overall performance. This role demands creativity, accuracy, and problem-solving, as even the smallest design decision can influence speed, efficiency, and reliability on track.

In short, a CAD Engineer is at the heart of the design process—turning ideas into a real, competitive race car through engineering precision and innovation.

Time expenditure: At least 10 hours per Week
