Tasks:
- Develop a comprehensive driver analysis tool using MATLAB or Vector CANape
- Process and visualize vehicle log data (telemetry) to enable direct comparison between laps and drivers
- Implement specific analysis modules for braking points, power usage, etc.
- Collaborate with drivers to translate their subjective feedback into objective, data-driven insights
Profile:
- Interest in racing simulators, telemetry and the physics of driving
- Motivation to learn professional software tools such as MATLAB or Vector CANape
- Strong analytical mindset and an interest in making performance “visible”
What awaits you:
As a Driver Analysis Tool Developer in the VCU department, you are the interface between vehicle dynamics engineering and the human element of racing. Your goal is to build a tool that allows our drivers to understand exactly where and why they are losing or gaining time on the track. Similar to the analysis tools used in professional motorsport, you will develop a platform that compares different laps to find the “perfect line”.
Time expenditure: At least 10 hours per Week
